Taktse county extends from the north of the Lhasa Zamchen bridge as far as Lamo on the south bank of the Kyichu and Logon on the north bank. It includes two important sites, the caves of Drak Yerpa and Gaden Monastery, both situated northeast of Lhasa. The county capital is located at Taktse or Dechen Dzong which is about 21km from Lhasa.
